Subtitle Extractor Privacy

Effective for the macOS App Store version of Subtitle Extractor.

This page describes privacy practices for Subtitle Extractor on macOS. Where this page differs from the general H61 Apps Privacy Policy, this page controls for Subtitle Extractor.

Local processing

Subtitle Extractor processes the video files you select on your Mac. It does not upload your videos or extracted subtitle files to H61 Apps or any cloud service for extraction.

Bundled FFmpeg and FFprobe helpers run locally on your device to detect and extract subtitle streams.

What we do not collect

  • No data collection for H61 Apps analytics or marketing
  • No tracking across apps or websites
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No user accounts
  • No cloud processing of your media

Normal subtitle extraction does not require network communication.

What stays on your Mac

Depending on how you use the app, it may store locally:

  • Preferences such as output and conflict settings
  • Folder authorizations you grant for reading or writing files
  • Optional activity or diagnostic logs when logging is enabled

These items remain on your Mac unless you explicitly export or share them. Diagnostic logs may include local file paths and processing status.

Third-party software

Subtitle Extractor includes bundled FFmpeg and FFprobe components that run locally. They are licensed under LGPL 2.1 or later. License text and source information are included with the app.

Website visits

If you open the H61 Apps website, contact page, or privacy pages in a browser, those visits are governed by the destination site’s privacy practices, including the general H61 Apps Privacy Policy.
