Help

Converting timestamp lists, reviewing chapters, and exporting chapter files.

Getting started

  • Open Chapter Converter.
  • Paste a timestamped chapter list, choose Open to load a .txt file, or drag and drop a .txt file onto the window.
  • Convert the list, review the preview and any diagnostics, then copy or export the chapter file.

Supported input

Chapter Converter accepts pasted timestamp lists, opened or dropped .txt files, common timestamp formats, copied timestamp links, and existing CHAPTERxx chapter files. Opened and dropped files convert automatically.

Validation and opening chapter

The app checks for missing, duplicate, or out-of-order timestamps and empty titles. The first chapter must start at 00:00:00.000. If it is missing, you can add an opening chapter before export.

Preview and export

After conversion, review the normalized chapter preview. Copy the generated chapter text or export a chapter .txt file for use with compatible media tools, including apps such as Subler and MKVToolNix. Chapter Converter creates chapter files only. It does not modify or embed chapters into video files.

Offline and privacy

Chapter Converter works fully offline. It does not include analytics or tracking, and chapter contents are not transmitted anywhere.

Troubleshooting

  • If conversion fails, confirm that the list uses readable timestamps and chapter titles.
  • If the opening chapter is rejected, add a 00:00 chapter or use the app's option to add a missing opening chapter.
  • If export fails, choose a writable destination and try again.
